Being Part Of

Don't feel part of your recovery family? What are you doing about it? Are you sitting back and building resentments because people seem to be avoiding you? Come on and get off your blessed assurance and put your recovery to action. If people won't come to you, go to them. You might find that they are feeling the same way.

People are basically nice, caring and respectful to each other but we are naturally shy. If you want a friend you must be a friend first.

So put your little foot out there and take the first step towards building relationships in recovery. And I don't mean for you to use what I suggest as an excuse to practice a 13th Step. If you don't know what that is, GOOD!

Meditorial

Today I will go out of my way to talk to at least one person I haven't gotten to know. I will not be satisfied with small talk but will do my best to engage the conversation in thing we may have in common besides the program. Today I will not go to bed until I have made a new friend.

Serenity To You!

Recovery Times has but one purpose and goal, and that is to carry the message of 12-Step Recovery  -- as written and practiced in its founding organization's (AA's) unaltered 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, and 12 Concepts for World Service, but not limited to only AA-sanctioned material (such as The Holy Bible, The Koran, The Upanishads, etc.). Recovery Times is not affiliated nor approved with or by any 12 Step organizations.

Recovery Times publishes only each author's opinions or positions on all matters, and doesn't necessarily agree or disagree with anyone on anything. Our Principles and Protocols are expressed beautifully in the Prayer of St. Francis (p.99, 12-Steps and 12-Traditions).
